Australian Standards & Certifications
Our commercial matting, stair nosing, and tactile ground surface indicator systems undergo rigorous testing to ensure total compliance with Australian building codes and certifier criteria.
AS 1428.1:2021 — Design for Access and Mobility
Entrance Mat Australia systems satisfy Clause 11 of AS 1428.1. When installed flush in a recessed well, they provide continuous, barrier-free transitions without vertical steps or trip hazards. Drainage gaps between aluminium treads are engineered below the 13mm limit and orient perpendicular to pedestrian flow to prevent wheel entrapment.
AS 4586:2013 — Slip Resistance Classification (P4 / P5)
Commercial foyer mats and stair nosings are independently wet pendulum tested in accordance with AS 4586. The TC Thin Series achieves certified Class P4 ratings, and heavy-duty carborundum stair nosings achieve Class P5 ratings, significantly minimizing wet weather slip-and-fall liability.
AS ISO 9239.1:2003 — Reaction to Fire Tests (NCC / BCA)
Critical Radiant Flux (CRF) and Smoke Development Rate testing for building fire safety compliance. Ensures our entrance matting systems can be safely specified in fire-isolated exits, public corridors, and multi-storey commercial foyers under National Construction Code Volume One specifications.
